Avery 1943 Magazine Pocket Type I for US Carbine Cal 30 M1

I picked up this past weekend a surplus Avery 1943 magazine pocket for my carbine to replace the terribly undersized imitation I bought when I first got it. I was incorrect in assuming that because they were old that they were weak and fragile. To the contrary everyone that I picked up at the show was better and more functional than the chinesium garbage I had. I like the fact that it's east coast regional to go with my Underwood.

It fit on the stock better instantly and I don't have to slide it up to the pistol grip to get the magazines in and out. It's snap was also so poorly executed that it put a small gouge in the stock as I was installing it. Had to pull it back off and remove the snap just to use it.
