I am busy today. I thought I'd already posted this message but it didn't come out.

I need to replace the forestock on the JC I just picked up. It has a metal nosecap.

Is it possible to replace this using cutdown No.4 and to rivet the nosecap on using some kind of brass rivet? Has anybody done this?
