    usually with tang damage on an 1903A3 its do to a loose or missing rear tang bushing.
    also you will likely find that the recoil lug flat is damaged as well.
    most of these stocks can be repaired, but after they are repaired correctly,
    render the rifle not shootable in CMPicon , Garandicon type matches, do to the recoil flat needing glass bedded.
