Frank,
Just wanted to show you what I was working with.
Right side is OK.
Left side, starting to get funky...
Close up of left forearm
Barrel and slide channel
This is what I have after cleaning/cutting with a soft cloth with, first, mineral spirits (5 times), then denatured alcohol (3 times). Starting to look like it's more than carbon. Maybe 60 years worth of solvents, oil and grease. I started an internet search and couldn't find EZ strip or a two part wood bleach that didn't scare me. Seems like (and I'm probably wrong) the bleach will remove all the woods natural color. Could you provide me with a picture of the products your using? Don't want to get the wrong stuff and turn the stock into kindling
Thanks,
MikeInformation
