I have a Springfield Armory M1903 rifle, in the 1.3 million range (early 1930's) with a re-build mark of "P.A.O.D." stamped into the space between the "Springfield Armory" and the serial number on the receiver ring. These letters are individually and unevenly stamped into the metal. I was wondering if anyone knew what facility these letters represented? What was the time period? The rifle now sports a 1942 barrel and other WW II replacement parts, so I assume that P.A.O.D. was a re-build facility. Thanks for any assistance. Cheers, KarlKWInformation
