It's interesting you mention that. I bit the bullet and paid a local smith to install a side rail this past weekend. I have on order a BP-02 low mount and a Russian
FED 1.5-4.5x scope made in the Ukraine from Kalinkas. Also have a set of Warne rings coming from Cabelas. Hopefully my sight problems will be resolved.

Good to know. Regarding the BP-02 low mount, have heard the mount sits slightly off center of the bore. Has this been a problem for you? I'm thinking the difference is so slight that accuracy won't be significantly affected. Also, when mounting to your rail, do you slide it all the way forward until it stops before latching or do you latch at a certain point. It would seem that by sliding all the way forward you would be more consistent.

Stop wasting your time. The AK is not accurate and was meant to keep heads down till your granade close to the target. The very best the bullet will do is 150 yards on a good day. To much receiver flex. There is one answer you can try that does work.

I have to agree the AK is not known for it's accuracy. I love it for dependability. For fine accuracy my Tikka bolt .308 does very nicely. My AK is the 5.45x39 and would be on the upper end as far as AK accuracy goes. It was specifically purchased to blast clays at 50 yds and beyond. With my eyes and the AK sights, this was not possible. Now with a scope, they do not have a prayer.

Good fortune then.

I've been using a Kobra sight with a scout mount on my sks and love it. I find the kobra is very fast on moving targets and the battery lasts forever.

That must end up with your sight line quite high above the bore line.
