    this doesn't sound like a magazine spring issue. it does sound like it's the interrupter. i've drawn an arrow to the interrupter in the Mosin Nagant.



    it should be depressed far enough into the side of the receiver after you've put the first round past it to let the other rounds be loaded and chambered with no issue, but they can get in the way sometimes. it keeps the ammo from popping up out of the magazine when loaded. if it sticks out too far it may need to be repositioned or replaced.
