My 1915 Lithgowicon hookie is marked to either the 3rd or 5th MD (hard to read, light stamp and pitting) and a pommel number of 16768. Of interest is that it is also marked to "6KKR" over "324", The Kings Royal Rifle Corps, aka 60th Foot. Oh the stories she could tell.

"6krr" (Oh, I see we've/I've got a little software feature that thinks it knows capitalization better than I do... )

“There are invisible rulers who control the destinies of millions. It is not generally realized to what extent the words and actions of our most influential public men are dictated by shrewd persons operating behind the scenes.”

    Edward Bernays, 1928

Much changes, much remains the same.
