Talking of magazines, life just gets worse and worse. I've got to do a load of L4 magazine filling on Thursday for a day on the Field Firing ranges with a couple of L4 Brens. Field firing ranges means most of it on automatic too.

I just hope those being demonstrated to are happy with my days work................. Life can be such a drag!

Peter, my sympathy goes out to you, it must be such a bore loading dozens of mags with Live ammo, just to throw it down the range. If you get really bored you could always write another book!!

You can put me down for one too, especially if it contains the engineering drawings for the Mk1 Muzzle brake. I really dont like the look of the Mk2 on mine. Wink Wink....

To be honest, from the material and weaponry that we have, everything he (Boys) put his hand to turned to shi............., er......, not very good, out of date, obsolete before it left the drawing board! And we haven't quite established where his Commissioned rank of 'Captain' came from yet either! Anyway.................

But regarding the Mk1 muzzle brake, SURELY someone who has been through junior school could have told him that when you blow down on a dusty or sandy surface, the dust or sand blows up. And that's JUST what happened with the round baffled Mk1! But it blew SO much dust up, that the big boys in their tanks most unsportingly took offence and shot back. Well, that's just not Britishicon.............

Reasonably good day on the ranges with the L4 Brens. VERY wet but they took it in their stride. But the Australianicon Army blokes grabbed the most ammo and pigged themselves out with the Brens!. That took me back a bit!

Thats because the Aussies sent all their Brens to us to play with, leaving them with next to none! Always putting others before themselves! ;-)
