M1 stock affects on elevation setting

I have an M1 with a new CMP stock which is really tight when I close the trigger group. While shooting this rifle at 100 yards, I was at 10 clicks UP from bottom before I was getting hits in the middle of the target where I was aiming. Using both LC 69 Ball and new Hornandy 168 A-Max. Hornandy ammo shot well. Anyway....will a really tight fitting butt stock affect the elevation settings? If so, how is the stock adjusted/ losened? Thanks.

10 clicks is ok. It won't be an issue until you want to shoot 1000 yards. In that case you adjust the front sight post height so 100 yards like 1 click up.
