Is this a Remington 1903 stock?

The only markings on the stock are 1.) a small W under the buttplate; 2.) a U in the receiver channel just forward of the magazine well; 3.) an R on the tip, partially obscured by a dent.

Your stock might possibly be a Remington stock, but more likely not. It's more likely a Rock Island stock. In any event, the stock is apparently a field replacement, since it is devoid of an inspection stamp and proof mark.
