    Yes, it's for the Bren. The original version was introduced in 1938 and what you have is a slightly modified version introduced in 1940. They were made by both the Britishicon and the Canadians. There's a long thread about Bren covers on the 'Weapons Online' forum:

    I was rather puzzled to spot some 1950's dated examples of these at Beltring this year as I'd assumed they'd long been replaced by the green canvas cover by then.

    The cover in question is in fact a Lewis Gun Cover. NOT a Bren Gun Cover.

    It is DEFINATELY for the Bren/ or 7.62mm LMG. There is one for sale on Evil-pay at the Moment. Look under Daimler Ferret in the search engine on that site!
