I'm curious, is your defective stock a sporter type stock? Is it an old USGI replacement stock or is it a newly made commercial military style stock?

Do you have any pictures of the defect, are there any markings on the outside or the inside of the stock identifying the maker?

What kind of stock are you looking for Military?, Sporter?.

The defective stock appears to be a new, military style replacement. There are no markings on the exterior of any kind. I am reasonably sure that it is not a GI issue stock. I should be getting the rifle back from the gunsmith today or tomorrow, and will then post a picture or two.

Note added, the defective stock is a "scant" style semi - pistol grip.

What I want is a military style stock, to make this rifle a good shooter for vintage military competition, formal and informal.

    Thanks for your suggestions.
