Can't speak for the ammo, but the KCIs run flawlessly in my carbines. KCI makes great mags for Glock also, and is a major supplier to the ROK military.

I believe Tula is Steel ammo. A lot of people say it is no good for USGI carbines, as the rifle was never designed to shoot steel ammo. Others say it is fine. Me, I say, why take the chance, as replacing a barrel on a 65 year old rifle is going to be problematic at best. I have seen some good deals on Prvi Partizan brass ammo, almost as low price as the Tula, so why take the chance- just my two cents.

+! on why take a chance... I found a chipped extractor after using Wolf steel cased about 6-8 years ago.

To save a few dollars on ammo. You then have to buy a bolt tool, new extractor, and get to go hunting for your spring and plunger or buy those too. Not for me.

I have in my cartridge collection several peices of .30 carbine&.45ACP ammo with steel cases bearing WW2 headstamps. EC 43 on both types. I believe this translates to Evansville Crysler 1943. The bullet jackets appear to be copper as they are non-magnetic. I have read there was a copper shortage during part of 1943, even the pennies were made of steel. Don't know about the .30 carbine but the .45 ammo is corrosive so beware. Never had enough of the .30 cal. to shoot any.

During late 1943 and into 1944 there was a possible shortage of brass available to make cartridge cases from.It was decided to use steel cases for ammo to be used in country in case of emergency. Millions of rounds of carbine and .45 acp were made but it was not used overseas in combat. The steel case was later used for training pretty much just to get rid of it. A lot was given away in the mid to late 1950's to friendly countries along with carbines. All USGI carbine ammo including the steel case was non corrosive primed from the beginning to the last lot of LC made in 1973.

All right learn and live Tula has a very blunt shaped bullet that does not feed smooth and the over all length is to long and varys 15 thousands to 20 thousands to long! The KCI mags double feed on me and bullet gets smacked in the middle denting the case in my Rock-cola. Went to american eagle Federal and Promag 15 shot magazines and no feed or jam problems.

+1 on the ProMags- although I am using the Kalifornia 10 round specials - no issues with them.
