Not too smart in my opinion. Better check your state booby trap laws before you find yourself in more trouble than you anticipate, both criminal and civil. Many states have a castle doctrine that enables you to defend your property, but I doubt it covers setting a trap that will kill or injure someone at a later date. Also, most burglars sell thier loot. What if he sells it to some kid or innocent party who tries it out without checking it out.
