03 Lower Band questions
When did they change from the serif "U" on the milled lower band to the block "U"?
And is there any difference in SA and RIA production?

I believe circa 1917-1918. Open to correction, though.

(1) 1909.
(2) Yes. RIA never switched to a block "U".
It's a good thing Rick is open to correction.
Hope this helps.

Remington used several different styles of "U's" on their lower bands.
The earliest bands had a small serifed "U" like the RIA "U". Later bands had a large block "U", lightly stamped.
