A Lithgowicon HT and a Shortened and Lightened would be at the top of my list.

I've got kids to trade. Seriously.

    My Holy Grail

    Hi All,

An interresting question that would easy to be answerd....... but no!!

From the first glimps I got from an LE rifle I fell in love with these rifles. I encounterd my first LE on an 100 meter militairy range. The guy asked me if I wanted to try it out. So I did, and it hurt (my shoulder)!!!
This was my first encounter with an LE rifle by the name of L42A1. There also was that day another guy on the range who was also shooting an scoped rifle. The looks of that rifle pulled on me like an magnet. It was one of the famous Britishicon No4T's. The guy alowed me to shoot it (with original WW2 ammo) and I new I was in love.

It took me more than 3 years after that first shoot to get my hands on my first scope for the No4T, another 2-3 years to get an No4T (less scope, made by BSA). Both of them were British.
In the mean time I bought my first No4 (Long Branch), after the No4T I was lucky enough to to get my hands on an Canadianicon No7 (Long Branch off course).
It took me another few years to get my No8, and last year I won the big one and could get hold of an No4T made bij Long Branch.

Now about the question we started with. I can't tell which one would be my holy grail, but the No4T from LB and CNo7 could both be an winner.

my enfield holy grail is a 1905 bsa no.1 mk1 with volley sights. it is all matching and has never gone through a major rebuild exept in 1909. it is marked HV NOT HV-SC so it is still sighted for the round nosed mkIV ammunition. the magazine is still the correct one with the bullet alighner. unfortunetly the stock disc is blank. I hope to aquire a pre ww1 smle mkIII with volley sights soon then that will be the holy grail.

I recently acquired what I consider to be my 'Holy Grail' of Enfields. A 1916 BSA that had been turned over to the Irish Free State Army. I had been looking for one of these for many years, and when I got it home and began to disassemble it to clean, and saw that double F in a circle, well, I thought I would pass out. Ok, it wasn't THAT dramatic, but an exciting find nonetheless. Possible action in the Somme, possible action in the Irish Civil War, folks, this is what these firearms are all about.

What's your Lee Enfield Holy Grail?

Hands down, the one my Scottish Grandfather carried with him while serving with The Highland Light Infantry on the Western Front. Fought in the Battle of Loos and the Battle of the Somme. Was wounded in both of those battles, but kept coming back. His LE and his canteen saved his backside many other times !

My Lee Enfield... i have questions also

Hey, (my first post).. i have a Lee Enfield with G.R.I. ISHAPORE 1923 ShtLE III on the band. (i could post pics). What a HOT shooting weapon! It groups so well with the iron sights, don't think i'd ever change. Now... the rear sight is halfway down the barrel and has a thumb release and a thumbwheel for adjustments. What kind of sight is this. It's very intricate. BTW... very nice site! Already found lotsa info for my Eddystone M1917 30.06. Thanks guys!
