Odd FNC1 Body Cover
Has anyone seen this type of body cover in service on an FNC1 or FNC2?

Note the reenforcement on the rear as well as the rib on top.
I have been told that when the early C2 tangent sights were replaced with the disc sight the existing tangent sight body covers had the TS removed and were reworked for spares
Anyone?

I am not entirely sure, but it was mentioned to me that this was a later version. The little rib on the back gave it some reinforcement. Could be wrong info though.
Anyhow if you are planning on selling let me know. I have plenty of the other version in as new shape but not one of these.

No idea, friend. The only ones I ever knew were identical to the FN C1A1.

This is similar to a thread on 'the oher side' recently. Just to pick up on the picture. Do the little 'tags' on the rear reinforced part extend downwards, below the line of the slide-in part as it isn't clear. It APPEARS that they don't. If they DO then this IS from a L1A1/C1 part because these tags went into little recesses in the rear of the rifle body. They were pretty well redundant on the usual covers but on this sort of charger loading cover, they prevented this cover from recoiling forwards and eventually blocking the ejection opening!
But I could be wrong

All the examples I have seen have faint traces of something else being fitted to the top of it and I'm 99% sure that these are converted C2 tangent sight covers. Get a tangent sight from a L2A1 rifle and re-braze it onto this cover and you have a rare cover/sight again.
