    Hi All,
How do we estimate the value of a rifle with documented history/provenance?
....Possibly only proven by listing via auction to find approximate value & how much some people are prepared to pay?

    Cheers; Mal

There is no "absolute" or calculable value. Sell it at auction and find out. Then you have the answer, and the money, but no rifle.

    I would keep the rifle!

    Hi Patrick,
I'll take the gun over the cash any day! I'll hand this Mauser down to my boys when I kick the bucket...they will probably fight over it ( & the other 150+guns), then sell it!
    Cheers; Mal

    A decision-making aid

    Good lad!

One way to make such decisions is to place the rifle on the table. Next to it, place those bits of paper you might be abe to get in exchange.

Then ask yourself "Which of these two options will I never be able to obtain again?"

    Decision made.

Thanks for the comments & I'm only a new member myself. Will have to check out the Translate feature after asking real nice for my wife to find it for me as I'm not the brightest spark when it comes to computers!
    Cheers; Mal
