    There was a period a while back when certain "restorers" were putting their Lee Enfield woodwork through the dishwasher on a hot cycle to get the grease and muck out of it.

    That's exactly what a bloke behind the counter told me to do last week when I bought a greasy '41 Lithgowicon. I just nodded and smiled politely.
