Personally, I think adding extended or detachable mags to an otherwise good SKS is a fine way to make a boat anchor out of it. Nothing but trouble, they are. And unwieldy to boot. I've lost count of the number of times I've seen troubles out of "up-magged" SKSes. If the owner keeps it, he usually ends up putting the original type mag. back in.
One reason is that the bolt geomatry of the SKS won't let you seat or remove a mag with the bolt closed. Attempting to do so invariably results in destroyed feed lips.
But maybe this fellow has invented the more functional mousetrap? I still think you are better off with a Vz58. Far more ergonomic, if in the magazine well placement and nothing else...Information
