Rifle Serial number N33994 was part of batch number 68 which consisted of 8 rifles and has a recorded conversion date of the 26th June 1975 following conversion it was sent to store at Donnington.

It is also believed to be one of only two trials rifles converted to L42 spec.

I have Enforcer No. 303, it has enabled me to win a couple of transitional target rifle and sniper rifle matches at Bisley (using home cast bullets too). I'd love to know about any info you have on this rifle. Also I would like to know what proof markings my rifle should have and would appreciate any info on these. Rifle 724 is recorded as unfinished so has been completed by the gun trade.

Can you double check your serial number as I don't see serial 34325 in the listing, however there is a K34326

Hi from NZ

I have L42A1 S/N K34325. It has chordal rifling with action and barrel dated 1974. All written material I have come across indicates that only rifles from the 1980 batch have chordal rifling. I would be very keen for any L42 owners especially those with post 1971 dated actions to take the top wood off and advise the date on both the action and barrel. I am interested in finding out more about when the chordal barrels were manufactured and then fitted to actions.

Rifle Serial number 37027 isn't recorded in the information I have available. Please don't interpret that to mean there is something suspicious about the rifle as there are known gaps in the records and you will find other rifles in this thread that aren't recorded either

Rifle 367 is an intersting one because it simply states "To Be Collected" and records a date of 3rd September 1981.

Rifle 228 was sent to Derbyshire Police on the 19th January 1981.

Rifle 952 was sent to Donnington on 1st March 1972.

Rifle 139 was sent to Parker, Birmingham on 5th Nov 1970.
