    Think you may have your wires crossed there John, Martini,s and Sniders come under section 58, so don't need a Licence for collecting or ornamental use etc.
    Just trying to give a few pointers to Jss on starting in the collecting field, If you have a good library and plenty of antique stuff such as the Martini etc., then it may help tip the balance to get the required slots on his ticket.

    I have heard recently that a case was thrown out of court regarding someone who had an antique firearm in there possession ( was on display ) it was well over a hundred years old , but not on the obsolete calibre list, but the judge ruled on the word antique so the case dismissed, could be a lot more to that story but that was the basics I heard.

    On the subject of obsolete calibres, there are a few who don't know that the .276" P13 can be held with no ticket, only snag here is the last one I know that was on the market was around £9000 only about £ 8900 over my budget.
