M84 scope dovetail rings, 1 inch rings too big, what can I do?

I just recevied my ring reducers and have them installed. Upon further research I found pictures for the M84 scope mounted with the adjustment turrents between the rings and with the turrents out front of the rings. Someone spare me the embarrassment at the range for the correct placement.

Personal preference. Right now mine is forward of the front rings. Vietnam vintage TM's shown them between the rings. some references (Senich) show them both ways. The M84 has pretty generous eye relief (as di the Weaver 330 and Lyman Alaskan) so correct is whatever fits and works best for you.
