Many thanks Simon for your response. Have checked the number on the fore wood, in pencil under the hand guard, on the mount and on the butt socket they are all K 34325. The action is dated '74. Regards Graeme

Hi Simon - nice to see you back in action again.

Enforcer 301 - (think it was Manchester just checking)

Does anyone know if Enforcer 382 is still in existence? I'd like to know which force it went to.

    Thanks

Does your list indicate that some of the L42 serial numbers of the early era have been issued from Enfield to Donnington and/or The School of Infantry Warminster twice? Or does our MoD TOC list differ from yours (TOC: taken on charge)

Rifle 301 was shipped to Manchester Plod on the 29th April 1975.

Rifle 382, if indeed it still exists, is recorded as being shipped to "Scottish Police" on 10th December 1974.

    Cheers,

    Simon.

    Peter,

The information I have does record that some weapons where despatched straight to the School of Infantry so the info I have could well be compiled from the records you have.

    Cheers,

    Simon.

BTW, Did you ever complete your treatise on the .55 Boys?
