Marines, Dogs and Carbines in WWII

I commanded the first Combat Tracker Team to be introduced into Vietnam. We were trained at the British Jungle Warfare School in Malaysia. The US gov't bought 4 Labrador Retrievers from the Brits ( dogs battle experienced from Indonesia). Eventually 85 teams were used from 1966-1972.

The dogs were unable to be brought back to the US because of a deadly bleeding disease that nearly all had--either as victims or carriers.
