That would be a tragedy, that is a government shortened M1905, making it the new standard M1bayonet in use from 1944 and for as long as the M1 Garand was on issue. Destroying a legitimate issue bayonet to "restore" another? Why?
EDIT!
Looking closer at the eBay link, it is possible that it is a fake, the scabbard does look like a straight plastic scabbard rather than the "cotton duck body impregnated with a thermosetting plastic" as stated in my link below. If this is the case, this would be a fair target for using parts in a restoration. They can probably be fitted to work on an original.
