I paid £30 for my tatty one about four years ago. It was in the grease. When cleaned off I found it was rusty, so had to polish it to mirror bright. Although not 100% perfect, it's not too posh to show some one. Some times if you have an immaculate original bayonet ( or gun) you can become afraid to show it to poeple in case it gets marked. They are tough old things, designed to fight the Keiser, so enjoy owning it.
    Best regards, Lester

Lester, afraid your slightly wrong there, in 1907 the British were actually more worried about fighting the Frenchicon than the Germans, the 1907 was designed to add the length to the rifle to match the Long French blades as the 1903 then in service was very short in comparison. All of the war plans back then were aimed at preventign the French crossign the channel the Germasn were a long way away and the Kaiser was a relative to the Queen of Englandicon
