That is good to know. I was actually waiting for somebody to answer the question from Krieger82 so that I could ask my question. At first glance I thought it was a South African ownership mark, but then I noticed the "U" was upside down compared to other photos I have seen. And now I know it can go either way -- Thank you

HI everyone, I'm new to this site but just acquired a MK II dated 1941. There is no magazine with the rifle and it's a bit unique from others I have been looking into. This rifle does not look like a military series weapon, it had a dark wood finish, the barrel is exposed with no place for a bayonet. Looks more like a hunting style rifle although is does have the pop-up slider style sights. I will attach a pic for everyone to view and would love any info/feedback you can provide. Thanks
