Well shot today at 100m and the gun will shoot however again stuck cases in the chamber so need input on what to do. Of course clean the chamber with something like lacquer thinner and how about wiping the neck of each shell with it to remove the majority of lacquer before shooting. Being old and sort of retired I do have the time to do that and if someone has a better idea please let me know.
Off this subject we shot with a gentleman who was using a Sako in 375 H&H Magnum with a grouping problem. He was using a "sled" but this gun would not group at 100m. The first shot was perfect then it put two laddered to the upper left both about 1.5 inches apart. Then it would put one high right. He asked my son to shoot it and he put the first two in the same hole (virtually) then a high left then one about 3/4 inch from the first two and then one hight right. Needless to say this man is not very happy and said the gun just won't zero properly and I think witnessing it today I must agree. My son said all the shots felt good and he was extremely careful trying his best to do a perfect group.
Next thing is the bolt often won't pick up a new round and chamber it. It can take several tries and again when you load the mag the top ctg looks a little low in the mag. This is a major problem as he bought this gun to hunt Grizzly's and the last thing you want is not being able to chamber a round when you really need it.
The loads were 350gr Barnes bullets with 66 grains of RL15 powder. Think he was pushing the top of the scale?
Any ideas on the Sako?Information
