A Collector's View - The SMLE Short Magazine Lee Enfield 1903-1989. It is 300 8.5x11 inch pages with 1,000+ photo’s, most in color, and each book is serial-numbered. Covering the SMLE from 1903 to the end of production in India in 1989 it looks at how each model differs and manufacturer differences from a collecting point of view along with the major accessories that could be attached to the rifle. OK, but details! There's clues.

Don't forget HOOKED ON HISTORY's two unsolved photos. One of which has me guessing, but it may be due to the photo rather than the rifle type.

Yes, indeed! The sling ring poking out to the side is a major identifier. It could have been one of the newer Carbines (Mle 1916), but it's snot. Still has it's old barrel (1892 marked under the handguard at any rate) even though it's been upgraded as far as it can and still retain the barrel.

    Happy, happy, joy, joy!

Shot it for the first time yesterday. Will have it in bigduke6's competition shortly. (See the Range Report Forum for more.)
