BDL
Ltd has one Carbine butt stock there. It needs a small amount of work due to a chip in the stock - but it is original - -

3rd time's the charm!
It took three attempts, but I finally got what looks to be an original #5 butt stock from SARCO. It looks to be in pretty nice shape, too. You might give them a try, if you're willing to be patient.

GordP, your thread 15 above......... Just checked in our main armoury and it looks like there are at least two Army issue, still on charge and definately not fake BSA/M47 marked No5 rifles. So there's probably more out there too. Anyone else got one (or two........)
Have a '45 M47C....

Looks like it has No. 4 forestock, carved to No. 5 outer shape. Hard to see for sure from the photo. The giveaway is the gap at the right front of the receiver, right beside the bolt head. This was to clear the boss for the OLD magazine cutoff boss,. The boss was milled off the No.5 but left on the No.4. A small gouge was milled into the No.4 wood to make room for the boss, and it looks like this stock has one.
The metal that we can see is all legit No.5, no pic of the flash hider or trigger guard, or rear sight. Should be marked to 800 yards.
Definitely not worth anywhere near $500. More like $200, if action & barrel are good, at least in Canada
.
You would need at least the buttstock & forestock to make it legit.

I stand corrected. Thank you. I had been (mis) informed that only Faz made the No.5
My apologies.
