If ya'll recall I came across and bought 2 carbines a while back.
In getting ready to swap the stocks on them and while noting how they came a couple questions popped up.
#1 is a 5,2 Inland sitting in a WRA stock with all correct WRA metal.
From frt sight (N), // barrel band,
PI Type V slide, and Round AI bolt with all Inland internals.
This one has a complete WRA T3 trigger housing with all WRA internals in it.
The Housing looks like it had never been apart, Until I tore in to it.
That's right MARCUS.... I took it apart
Complete with the W/S hammer, "EW" push safety,
TYPE IIA Mag catch , Inverted W trigger.
A WRA T3 housing with a Type IIA magcatch, per Riesch (est):
Type IIA .W marked magcatch 1,1 mil.
Type III housing 1,22 mil
"EW" safety 1,3 mil
W/S flat hammer 1,28 mil
I guess I just didn't realize how early the T3 housings came in to use. When thinking about Type III's, I've always found myself thinking of WRA's 5 mil serial block. Now realize they were used much earlier.
My original thoughts were......... Could the Type IIA magcatch be found in the early 5 mil range?
And when did the W/S hammers show up?
So with the Magcatch, maybe still possible, but probably unlikely.
JimF and Hooks, you guys are right, It's Tough getting old.....
Thx Guys,
