    Awesome, thanks for the quick response, but what do you mean (approx 40c to 84c)?

    Also do you know how I would tell if this is an unissued rifle? I've checked the bore and breech (though I've not had it checked by a professional) and from what my neighbor, father, and I can tell, It doesn't appear that this rifle has ever been fired. Although when I got it from my father who had owned it for several years he told me when he had got it, it had been surplus packed in cosmolineicon before he got it.

    I would start by assuming that is isn't because to be so would be highly unlikely.

    77C7704 is the serial number of your rifle. The "C" means it is a Savage. They started numbering at 0C1 and after reaching 0C9999 they went to 1CXXX, and so on.
