The phrase "In God We Trust" I believe is often misunderstood. The word God in this instance does not apply to just one God, it stands for all of the different Gods of the many religions that make up this great country. No matter what you may call your personal God, he is still God!
Now correct me if I'm wrong (and I know you old CSPicon members will ) but the Constitution does not say anything about separation of church and state, it says there shall be no state sponsored religion. The idea of separation of church and state comes from Thomas Jefferson and the Federalist papers.
So God in this instance is used as a general term, there is no separation of church and state in the Constitution, and according to this poll 86% of us support "In God We Trust". All that leaves is the atheists, the agnostics, and the current administration that are offended by it. If the word God being connected to the government in any way offends them, than their taking offense to it offends me and 86% of the country!!!! GET OVER IT!!!
