Questions regarding a 1934 Banner Mauser by Mauser Werke AG, Oberndorf a/N
Hello I am new here. Found the forum while looking for information on what I thought was a run of the mill K98
Mauser. I picked it up several years ago and never paid much attention to it. Just tonight I found out its a 1934 Banner Mauser C1XXXX and evidently worth more than most K98's.
I have several questions if you feel obliged to help me. First the rifle is missing the cleaning rod and sling. Where can I purchase correct ones for this rifle? What would be a fair price for each?
After looking at the wonderful compilation of photos at 1934 "Banner" Mauser It appears that the only problem with this rifle is that the bolt does not match the serial numbers for the rest of the rifle. How much does this devalue the rifle?
The bayonet that I have with it does not have a sheath and it appears to be a regular WWII K98 bayonet. Where can I find the correct bayonet and sheath for this rifle. What would be a fair price for these two items?
Thanks in advance for any help you can give.
Dennis

I'd love to help, but my "Banner Mauser" amounts to this much:

The rest was very nice but it was last seen 25-30 years ago!

Below are some photos of my 1935 Banner Mauser. All matching serial numbers except for the bolt.
I need a correct cleaning rod, bayonet and sheath for it.

It looks fairly complete. But the finish is odd. Phosphated? Originally they were a deep luster blue. More like a fine sporter than a military rifle.
Scarce rifles any more!

I wondered about that since all the others of that year that I have seen have been blued. This one has no trace of bluing on it anywhere, under the stock its clean and slightly greener looking but not any semblance of blue.

Still a rare piece ...

I went to a local gun show this past weekend and found a guy that had both 10" and 12" cleaning rods for a K98
Mauser. He said they were the two lengths that should fit my rifle. We tried the 12" and it was at least 2 inches too short. What type of ram rod should I look for to fit my 1934 Banner Mauser?
Thanks
