Best google and I can determine Polish rework Mauser Kar98az Calvery Carbine?

Kar98a, WWI german. Polish re-work and probably sold off to Spain. Not real common, but many (most?) have bad bores. Light weight and quite popular in WWI, but they kick like a mule.

The bore cleaned up and looks better than I thought. I assume the scrubbed reciever is an indication of its possiable shipment to Spain. No import marks and I did not pay much so feeling good about adding what seems to be a rather unusual Mauser.

I suppose this photo gives a clue as to what bayonet I need. Butcher blade?

Yes I believe you are correct. Prices seem to approcah No5 & M39 bayonet prices. I am going to have to buy some Russian
Mosins just to get cheap bayonets.
