I got one of those myself. Mine is a Rock-Ola with most matching parts.

I called Detroit and spoke with their Armorer. He told me that these were sold some years ago, and about 5 years after they sold them, the PD destryed the maintenance/record books.
I gave them my PD numbers but they couldn't help me.

It would have been nice to know when/where/who the rifle traveled with and what it "saw"

That's what I was told too! What a shame that the provenance of these guns was lost. Does yours have a matching magazine? Regards, Rick.
