Polish M91 Sniper Stock Repair

I like your idea of repairing vs replacing. I am hoping someone will reply with some pointers.
I googled m91 original stock repairs and got some results. I believe this or some variation in the search critera should at least yeild some visual referances to what an period repair should look like.
