Reloading for the M-1
Really good advice already given. 4895 is the optimal powder, but 3031 works really well. Its tough going in the PM as already noted. I set my PM a little lower and trickle in the rest..slower going, but eliminates the hard cutting of grains. Two inch groups are pretty much about the best that stock rifles will do although careful tinkering (and patience) can do a bit better. Cast can work well however at somwhat lower velocities than GI ball and with different rear sight settingts. J. Cooper
