    Don´t want to criticize a great effort ... but it does look as if it needs a spot of linseed on the wood as well.

    Its had two or three coats so far, its nice and dry now and like you say needs a spot more, just wanted to see what it was like on the range, before the final fettling and a good soak in linseed.
