I don't use "Forum techniques" I was just pointing out some things that I'd learned, which you do as well. I respect your opinions and have asked you for them in the past. I say "Thanks" because we are supposed to be more civil to one another on this forum.

Of course the Winchesters were 'actually gray'. Since you apparently thought you were correcting something I said, exactly what was it? Was it about the green cast that they can get over 70 years? That does not mean they were originally like that - it took a long time to happen. That's a really cute forum technique - make a snide 'put-down' and then say 'Thanks for the info'.

Some folks may not know that the finish can take on a green hue as it ages. Probably because a lot of guys mostly see imports and rebuilds that have already been refinished. Or some left alone with worn original finishes.

Let's not get on each other over this point.
