Boxes of 6 Bren magazines
Found four of these boxes. One was opened. The rest are still closed. I didn't see any markings on the magazines. Anyone know where they were made? There's what looks like pitch on the boxes.

All the MK2* tropical packs I have are Australian
Electrolux manufactured but are marked as such and have 12 mags in a pack.
Are there any markings on the bottom plate or internals ?

I went over them with a magnifying glass. One has a 'Z' on the side of the body.

Only a 'Z' ?
No other markings such as manufacturers name or code or MK designation or date ???

Yeah, only a 'Z.' I went over them again and there are no other markings.
I'll take a few to the range this week. I'd take a bunch, but .303 is so expensive now. I really should get into reloading it.

Take a tip Vince........... .303" ball might SEEM to be expensive but the enjoyment you get from firing those two or three magazines will be worth it at THREE times the price. Your wife and family will still be reaping the rewards from the pleasure that you've taken on board in a weeks time. Believe me.
The Bren gun. The finest might machine gun ever to be put into the hands of a fighting soldier

I do like .303, Captain Laidler
. It's so much smoother than 54R.
I love my Bren,,, but I am also fond of my MG42. It's not as well built as the Bren,, and isn't as smooth,,, but it's still a very impressive weapon.
Looking forward to reading your Bren book.

I have a mint ex Slovinaian Army M53 ( MG42). I think a milled gun such as the Bren is stronger construction but would be a very expensive gun to produce now. If you enjoy a well built gun get a Vickers. I finally got a Vickers last year. It's a good test for my hernia repair!!!!!!

Opened another box and found a nice surprise on the inside of the outer paper wrapping.
They probably intended it for the soldiers who would be using the magazines and that thought made me smile.
While we are not the intended recipients,, I think some of you will appreciate it just the same.
