Further to Jakes comments....... I feel that the sort-of lack of response is because magazine fitting was not an exact science because it was individually fitted to a rifle, hence being numbered to it. It must fit exactly lengthways and be a tight fit at the rear where it engages the magazine catch. It should be impoissible to pull it down or even move it at the front. Once you've got that right, it's the feed lips. Before you go much further with the round nose pliers, heat the lips to cherry red and allow to cool. They'll 'work' better like this, be more forgiving to the tweaking and be far less liable to fracture
