.303 MkII chargers

How hard to find are the MkII chargers for the Enfield these days? And what would be a normal price for them?

In the Quartermaster stores I did find the 100 .303 rounds with clips and boxes. But I can't own the rounds.

DS Solutions in the UK sell a pack of 10 chargers for £18, so I guess about Euros 2 to 2.50 per charger would be OK.

Re thread 1........ Just buy the bits that you CAN own and ask him to sell the rest on, on your behalf. There's a goiod chance that the ammo is only going to someone who wants the actual ammo anyway and doesn't give a toss what sort of chargers are holding it together. Why can't you have the actual ammo?

What's the difference between Mk2 and 4 chargers as I'm a mere novice when it comes to most things. especially ammo associated guff?

The MkII chargers were WW1 era (with the slatted bases) and go for about £3 (3.6 Euros) each quite regularly on 'that well known auction site'. I managed to pick up a job lot of about 18 'phosphated' ones from Australia on the same site several years ago, but I expect the original 'blued' ones are more collectable.

Mark III and IV chargers are also WWI.

Charger approval dates were:
Mark I List of Changes Paragraph 11753 16 Jan 1903
Mark II List of Changes Paragraph 13465 24 April 1906
Mark III List of Changes Paragraph 18973 15 Feb 1916
Mark IV List of Changes Paragraph 19786 30 Oct 1917

The Mark V charger was also from 1918 but was not finally approved due to the end of the war.

Many thanks Tony - I wasn't wrong, nor was I entirely right! But would it be safe to say that the Mk II .303 chargers were the most commonly used ones during WW1?
