    T99 Chargers/ Stripper Clips

I didn't find anything with a search of the forum. I've never seen one at a fun show. Do they exist in any quantity here in the states? Are they as rare as hen's teeth? I would like a couple (or at least one) for possible use in the Vintage Military Rifle Match at Camp Perry next year. I have a 7th Series Nagoya with a mismatched bolt and ground mum that is a nice shooter. It would probably be competitive if it could be reloaded via charger in the rapid-fire prone string.

    Thanks!

The Swissicon GP11 cartridge (7.5x55) has a rim diameter that is almost a perfect match. So if your aim is a competition shoot, I suggest you get hold of a couple of clips for the G11 or K31 and try them out. They might require a bit of adjustment at the front end, but it's your best chance. Otherwise, I think it's looking for hens teeth!

    It looks like this:

Odd dummy rounds are supposed to be 7.7 Japaneseicon, as I recently learned!

The best stripper clip to use in the 7.7 jap 99 is the Swedishicon 6.5 Mauser stripper clip. The Sarco company has them new 10 for $10 on there web page. They are well made and can be used many many times. Good shooting and best of luck,Dave C.

    quiz photos - yes

They were quiz photos and nobody could ID these Japaneseicon clips/chargers - they are not common to find with the original cartriges. I also have a 7.7 with the rim or as some say the Japanese 303, made for the Lewis

I had suspicions, but this computer is 30 miles away from my ammo, so it was not something I felt comfortable guessing. I was hoping someone else was going to jump in!

Get a clip for a 6.5 Swede and try that. Original brass clips are seldom encountered. Check junk boxes at gun shows. I used to shoot a 7.7, but the stock was so short that I got a black eye from my thumb over the wrist.

Thanks for the suggestions guys. I'll keep my eyes peeled for some 6.5 Swedishicon and 7.5 Swissicon.
