Thank you Gentlemen. I think the jury can rest on it's verdict here.
Personally I have learned a lot (about No4's in general, my big L.E. weakness) I think the biggest killer is the timeline pointed out by Lee Enfield early on, with the recent pics showing what look like less than professional markings being the icing on the cake. It's redeeming feature being the way the mount system has been made, perhaps they are the reason for the rifle, and not the other way around.
If anything comes from stripping the rest of it down, when I get the opportunity, I'll bring back pics. If the owner has any questions I cannot answer, I'll bring them back too.
