Serial numbers may all match but do they match because they match or because Mitchell's renumbered them. That's the problem.

They aren't collectible, they are way over priced. You'll never get your return out of them.

That being said, they are nice rifles and I happen to own a Yugoicon M48 from Mitchell's. Now I didn't pay the $500 they want for them, I got it for less than $300 if I remember correctly from Cabelas. The guy that sold it to Cabelas obviously didn't get anywhere near $300 for it so he probably lost $250 in the transaction.

The thing with the M48's are they almost all look like brand new rifles so Mitchell's didn't do anything to them. It's most likely original so it retains it's collector value, it just isn't anywhere near what Mitchell's claims it to be. It is not a K98icon as they advertise, even in the paperwork that came with it. It's an M48 postwar rifle.
