Hey L B
Glad you got some photos up, I'v never seen a letter stamp there or numbers on the end of the stock like that .Every time somebody checked them out or repairs they got marked .I'm going to try and find out who the F was.
Thanks
Cary

The F and the 20 have the look of "unit applied" markings
Otherwise congrats on the Winchester wood.

Hey Dan,
Thanks for your thoughts. Is Winchester wood tough to get? Guess it is since they made the smallest amount of rifles. There is a smaller "20" just in front of the buttplate on the bottom. Shot low res photos two days ago. Tried new settings on the broken camera that now works. They stink. Will take new hi-res photos maybe tomorrow. Rifle is back together now and looks good.
I'll post the new photos and data on all of the parts soon.
I assume the rifle has it's original barreled receiver match. Original blue and the serial seems to match the barrel date. Haven't seen a lower number on the Inet. #16,136 with an 11-17 barrel. Bore is flawless and very tight.
Winchester small parts are kinda rough like Win Garand
ones.
The rifle is very tight, but all of the larger screws are buggered but threads are fine and work. Searched for parts today and found that a company called Poppert's has just about every part listed for sale. Don't know if they really have them all in stock. Has anybody here done business with them?
Speaking of stocks, they have them listed for sixty bucks I think, and I believe handguards.
Regards, and death to bad guys,

Popperts is a good place, never had, or heard, any complaints about them. Be forewarned thought, the only parts they will actually have in stock will be the ones with a line of dots.........leading from the part name to the price. If there aint no line of dots then there aint no part.
