Does NM front sight improve accuracy for M1 Garand

I have a nice WWII M1 Garand. I want to improve it's accuracy. I am going to tighten a gas cylinder spline. I wondered if also swapping the front sight with the NM version is also worthwhile. I would think so, but you know what happens when we assume.
I don't think it will be matched in finish with the barrel.
I appreciate the advice.

I was all prepared for the JC Garand Match last fall at the GCA Convention till I found out I was not allowed to use a NM sight.
